Frequently Asked Questions
I am a qualified Adult Guidance Counsellor specialising in career guidance, career transition, and personal development. While my work can be therapeutic and supportive, I am not a psychologist or a psychotherapist. I have received psychometric assessment training on both occupational and personality testings. I also hold a licence with My Future Choice to undertake assessments. In addition, I have a Professional Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
What is your professional background?
School guidance focuses on early career choices. Lifework Guidance supports everyone considering career change, returning to education/work, feeling stuck, navigating redundancy or burnout, seeking meaningful work, or exploring strengths and values. My approach looks at the whole person, not just job choices.
How is Lifework Guidance different from school guidance?
How do I book a session?
Email aoife@lifeworkguidance.ie. I will send a pre-consultation form and then arrange a date and time. In-person appointments are in Tullamore town. I rent a private room for appointments in a therapeutic shared offices space. Details of this accessible location will be provided upon booking.
Our process is three-part: Clarity (understanding your current situation), Insight (discovering your strengths and direction), and Action (moving forward with confidence). I provide a pre-consultation questionnaire and follow-up emails to ensure a smooth transition.

Do you offer online appointments?
Yes, I offer both in-person and online appointments. This flexibility allows you to choose the setting that feels most comfortable and accessible for your personal schedule.
How long does a typical session last?
Our appointments are 1 hour long. This allows for a deep and focused exploration of your career path and personal development goals.
